Circadian Rhythm: Your Body Has a Clock—Stop Ignoring It

We love to believe we’ve outgrown biology. That our gadgets, supplements, and productivity hacks somehow exempt us from the laws that govern every other living thing. Your circadian rhythm isn’t optional —it’s the clockwork that keeps your entire system running.

Your body still keeps time—even when you ignore it.

Here’s the truth:
You are not an exception.
You are not a machine.
You are an animal with a clock in your brain that still expects sunrise, sunset, and darkness.

That clock—the circadian rhythm—runs almost everything that matters:
Your sleep.
Your metabolism.
Your immune function.
Your hormones.
Your capacity to handle stress without unraveling.

When you ignore it, you pay.

Artificial light at night isn’t a minor annoyance.
It’s a chronic stressor your nervous system can’t fully adapt to.
Every time you blast your eyes with blue light after sunset, you’re telling your brain it’s noon—shutting down melatonin, spiking cortisol, and throwing off every downstream process.

And the consequences aren’t subtle.
Circadian disruption fuels weight gain, mood instability, insulin resistance, and eventually, the slow decline you’ll be told is “just aging.”

The good news is you don’t need expensive devices to fix it.
You just need to remember what your biology has always known.

Step outside first thing in the morning.
Let unfiltered daylight hit your eyes for at least 10 minutes.
After sunset, switch to warm light—amber, red, candlelight if you can.
Stop pretending your phone isn’t affecting you.
Either filter it or put it away.
